Cool lyrics

July 31st, 2005 by captainamazing

Everlong

If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again

The only thing I’ll ever ask of you
You’ve got to promise not to stop when I say when

Stratjacket feeling

Trust you is just one defense
off a list of others, you don’t make sense
Beg me time and time again
to take you back now, but you can’t win
Take back now, my life you’re stealing

Dancing inside

what makes the one to shake you down?
each touch belongs to each new sound
say now you want to shake me too
move down to me, slip into you

Paper Heart

Summertime, the nights are so long
The leaves fall down, and so do I into the arms of a friend
Winter nights
My bedside is cold, for I am gone
And spring blossoms you to me

Exam’ge month

April 16th, 2005 by captainamazing

Well it’s April, and that means exams.  All that has been taking place right now is studying, and i cannot wait till my last exam is finished on the 26th.

Played some poker on thursday, I WON!  Staged the greatest comeback in poker history!  Short stack with 4 outa 10 people left on the table.  And it all started with my lucky cards 2 and 4.  Had some good plays going there tho.

a scene that i just wanted to save that i really like(going to be using this as quote storage)… it is from Shakespeare in Love:

VIOLA AS THOMAS
                     (catching up)
Yes, my aunt. But perhaps she wept a
little. Tell me how you love her,
                 Will.

                           WILL
Like a sickness and its cure together.

                           VIOLA AS THOMAS
Yes, like rain and sun, like cold and
                 heat.
                     (collecting herself)
Is your lady beautiful? Since I came
to visit from the country, I have not
seen her close. Tell me, is she
                 beautiful?

                           WILL
Oh, if I could write the beauty of her
eyes! I was born to look in them and
                 know myself.

He is looking into VIOLA’S eyes. She holds his look, but
       WILL belies his words.

                           VIOLA AS THOMAS
                 And her lips?

                           WILL
Oh, Thomas, her lips! The early
morning rose would wither on the
branch, if it could feel envy!

                           VIOLA AS THOMAS
And her voice? Like lark song?

                           WILL
                 Deeper. Softer. None of your
                 twittering larks! I would banish
                 nightingales from her garden before
                 they interrupt her song.

                           VIOLA AS THOMAS
                 She sings too?

                           WILL
                 Constantly. Without doubt. And plays
the lute, she has a natural ear. And
her bosom–did I mention her bosom?

                           VIOLA AS THOMAS
                     (glinting)
                 What of her bosom?

                           WILL
Oh Thomas, a pair of pippins! As round
                 and rare as golden apples!

VIOLA AS THOMAS
I think the lady is wise to keep your
love at a distance. For what lady
could live up to it close to, when her
eyes and lips and voice may be no more
beautiful than mine? Besides, can a
lady born to wealth and noble marriage
love happily with a Bankside poet and
                 player?

                           WILL
                     (fervently)
Yes, by God! Love knows nothing of
rank or riverbank! It will spark
between a queen and the poor vagabond
who plays the king, and their love
should be minded by each, for love
denied blights the soul we owe to God!
So tell my lady, William Shakespeare
waits for her in the garden!

This weekend?!

April 1st, 2005 by captainamazing

Well I just found out that I will be heading to the Junos this sunday!!!  Wow I am so excited!  Never thought we would get tickets, but i guess it helps when your mom works for CTV.  Hmmm who to talk, I believe I will be asking a special lady tonight if she would like to join me that evening…  Should be good times, I even got a backup just incase the first one can’t make it.

Looking forward to NLDC, the western region is gonna be so Big Bucket!  Can’t wait to see my friends from all across Canada.  Jonny if you are reading this, i expect you to uphold your promise of everynight being "tie on the head" night!  I’ll be there with you bud!

Ya not much going on at the moment, cept prep for exams.  I hope I have a more interesting update for you in the future.  I leave you now with lyrics from my favorite song.

Favorite song of the moment: Hey there Delilah

hey there delilah
whats it like in new york city
im a thousand miles away
but girl tonight you look so pretty
yes you do
time square cant shine as bright as you
i swear its true

hey there delilah
dont you worry about the distance
im right there if you get lonely
give this song another listen
close your eyes
listen to my voice its my disguise
im by your side

oh its what you do to me
oh its what you do to me
oh its what you do to me
oh its what you do to me
what you do to me

hey there delilah
i know times are gettin hard
but just believe me girl
someday ill pay the bills with this guitar
we’ll have it good
we’ll have the life we knew we would
my word is good

hey there delilah
ive got so much left to say
if every simple song i wrote to you
would take your breath away
id write it all
even more in love with me youd fall
we’d have it all

oh its what you do to me
oh its what you do to me
oh its what you do to me
oh its what you do to me

a thousand miles seems pretty far
but they’ve got planes and trains and cars
id walk to you if i had no other way
our friends would all make fun of us
and we’ll just laugh along because we know
that none of them have felt this way
delilah i can promise you
that by the time that we get through
the world will never ever be the same
and youre to blame

hey there delilah
you be good and dont you miss me
two more years and youll be done with school
and ill be makin history like i do
you know its all because of you
we can do whatever we want to
hey there delilah heres to you
this ones for you

oh its what you do to me
oh its what you do to me
oh its what you do to me
oh its what you do to me
what you do to me

CRAZY WEEKEND

March 20th, 2005 by captainamazing

Ahh man, it was a totally good weekend, good times and good stuff.  A great way to unwind.  Where to start…..

It all started with St. PAtty’s day.  Went out after our exec meeting to Freehouse, had some green beers.  It was lovely.  After that we headed over to Mitch’s where we played some ping pong and backyard boxing.  Boy was that every a fun sport.  Sorry Pedro for nailing you in the face, i really thought u were going to block that.

The following day, we went to Below the Equator.  Brazil was the theme and they showcased lots of dances and items from the culture.  It was good times, got to do lots of latin dancing, and got really drunk.  Mani and I bought a 6 pack and pounded em back in his car before entering.  Weapon of choice was Minhas Creek, and the timer was set to 15 minutes.  The social was really fun, mani got a number and I go to slow dance with a spanish girl (YES!!!).

Saturday Mitch picked me up to go to Becky’s place to pregame for Coyotes.  Started drinking the Minhas Creek once again at 6:30pm and didn’t stop drinking till 1:00am.  Man that bar was so much fun.  I was probably the best dancer there… seriosuly!!!  But the social work girl’s were awesome, they are a fun bunch.

Highlights of the weekend:

-Pounding back the Minhas Creek in the Camaro

-spanish lady

-backyard boxing

-grind off at coyotes

-sleeping on a waffle like matress

-bare knuckle boxing at Becky’s (i have bruises)

-saying the Anchorman line at perkins to the hostess

WPM

March 15th, 2005 by captainamazing

Wow!! What an amazing weekend it has been.  I felt like I was running out of the AIESEC juice just before leaving for WPM, but now it is fully re-energized and ready for more action.  I got to know 8 outstanding individuals who will be representing AIESEC Canada during the year  ahead.

I feel that I have gotten to know all of you better through this weekend and we were really able to come together and grow as a team.  I love this whole support networ we have as a western region, we are the best, we are the west!  And this is what we live by:

"We the trail-blazing leaders of the West challenge ourselves to achieve Big Bucket Doublage!!!"

This vision of the western region, is not just a statement, it will be a way of life.  As REgional Fun Manager I will make sure we are energized at all times and delegate the fun to those who are in need.

I promised that I would try and not be sappy about my blogs but I cannot really help it.  To all my western region reps, we will truly achieve Big Bucket Doublage.  It has been a privilege getting to know all of you and thank you for the memories.  This has been the best weekend of my AIESEC career so far, and I look forward to our reunion at NLDC.  I will try and hold back my tears, but there are no promises.

PS:  Frank the tank misses you all also!

CRAZY MONTH

March 7th, 2005 by captainamazing

OHHH man,

This has been one crazy month so far for me.  Lotsa stuff has been happeneing both in and out of AIESEC.  It seems like i am getting gang banged by all the elements in my life at the same time.  Even tho it has been one hectic MArch, it has all been worth it.

Seeing all the things that we have achieved in AIESEC over the past 2 weeks has been amazing.  I have been accomplishing things I never thought I would do while in university.

On a lighter note, last weekend sure was fun.  Went to Empire with Spencer and Snake for joann’s sister’s going away party.  Man the empire sure was fun that night.  I love drinking Yager Bombs.  Those have to be the best drink ever.  Man i was so hyper, I just wanted to start a mosh pit on the dance floor.  MY heart was beating like mad, and i had so much energy.  Luckily I was able to salsa it off, man I am pretty decent now, i see that my lessons are paying off.

After Empire we crashed the girls sleepover.  It was pretty funny, i smelled like liquor and got some ice cream and gummi bears.  I was so burnt out when we arrived and so were the girls, it was a nice relaxing way to end the evening.

Guitar lessons are going pretty well.  My teacher has been teaching me outa a book based on Metallica, so thats pretty cool.  Got some new tabs from Rog the other day from the anime Beck.  So i’ve been playing "Moon over water" and "FAce".  Gotta be the best anime ever!

Good songs you should DL:

Hey there delilah - by plain white ts

Blog Back UP!!!

March 2nd, 2005 by captainamazing

Well Sports Fans,

I am sure many of you have anticipated the return of "CaptainAmazings" blog journals.  It has been down for quite some time now.  But it looks like it may be here to stay, although i wish i still had my old domain name.

Anyways things to update:

It has been crazy around the university campus.  March 1 marked my first day as President.  So much has happened and still is happening and I am so excited to see the results.  And soo the "rollercoaster" known as "LCP term" begins.  I will try and put a more detailed post up later this week, but for now I have much school and aiesec work to accomplish.
